The Basic Human Rights Globally

In the past, specific human rights extended to particular groups. Thanks to the change, human rights are now inherent to all people regardless of their race, gender, language, religion, and sexual orientation. Therefore, this new change brought about the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) for the necessity of human rights for everyone.

Therefore, this organization received support from international law, national constitutions, and other notable bodies. So, what kind of human rights exist?

Social, Economic, and Cultural Rights

These three types of human rights include the right to food and water, the right to education, the right to work, and the right to shelter/housing. Apart from the documents formed in 1976, some human rights activists support these rights in different ways. Moreover, it is the responsibility of the state to protect and implement this category of human rights. This category mainly involves;
  • The right to work in a secure environment for a reasonable wage
  • The right to obtain medical care, including mental health care
  • The right to available education
  • The right to sufficient food, clothing, and housing
  • The right to reasonably priced sanitation and clean water
  • The right to be a part of the cultural life
  • The right to the welfare of scientific progress
  • The right to social security

It would be better if everyone understood their rights clearly like in understanding human rights

Political and Civil Rights

Civil and political rights state that people should have the freedom to freely participate and choose their political and civil lives without discrimination. The classification of social, economic and cultural rights focuses more on what people should find entitlement in. In contrast, the political and civil rights talks about protection from particular things like slavery and torture. There are select channels to protect and implement human rights like patriciayunghannsauthor.com

Such rights include;
  • The right to life, whereby actions like use of force, death by torture, and neglect are a violation of this right .
  • The right to freedom of expression, where dishonor comes from things like limiting access to ideas and restraining press freedom.
  • The right to privacy, which is against violating one’s personal sexual life or individual files.
  • The right to asylum, which involves standing against the action of exiling someone to another country where their lives are in danger.
  • The right to a non-discriminatory trial and due process, which is against a court that’s not fair and has unnecessary delays.
  • The right to freedom of belief/religion. Which is dishonored when someone is reproved for following their beliefs or forced to take on another religion.
  • The right to freedom from prejudice/discrimination; involves the violation of characters like gender, race, religion, and more as a justification of actions like getting fired from your job.
As all the documents governing human rights are useful, they should not limit how far human rights should extend. Still, humans have a lot of rights they should feel entitlement and protection from. As the world changes due to technology, climate, and scientific advancements, the entities should do as much to keep up. While change is good, it would be better if we did not tear down the old fashioned human rights but rather refine them and find ways of implementing them practically.
